Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics Introduces
FibaTape® Perfect Finish™ Ultra-Thin Drywall Tape
 
(Buffalo, NY) – The world’s first and leading fiberglass mesh drywall tape brand, FibaTape®, has added a new drywall tape to its line that is thinner and stronger than other drywall tapes. With drywall tape, thinner is better. The New FibaTape® Perfect Finish™ fiberglass mesh tape is over 30% thinner than standard paper and mesh tapes resulting in less compound required, faster job completion and a smoother finish. This new thinness is not at the expense of strength. Using industry standard “strength to first crack” tests against standard mesh and paper tape, Perfect Finish™ tape exhibits significantly improved strength across both tapered edge and butt-end joints.
 
The benefits of using FibaTape® Perfect Finish™ tape:

FibaTape Perfect Finish tape’s increased strength and thinness resulted from using a thinner fiberglass yarn and an increase in the number of yarns in the fabric construction. In fact, the tape is constructed with 50% additional intersection points giving it much more strength.

While offering great new benefits, FibaTape Perfect Finish tape still has the same great qualities as our standard fiberglass mesh tape such as a resistance to mold and mildew. In addition, the open mesh design of all our FibaTape fiberglass mesh tapes reduces time by eliminating the need for an imbedding coat. The open mesh design also prevents blisters and bubbles which are common when using paper tape.
